JuiceInnov8, a Bangkok based deeptech startup in food biotechnology space, has closed a pre-Series A funding led by 500 Startups (500 Durians and 500 Tuktuks), making the total amount raised (including Seed Round and grants) at US$1.2M to date.
As the first venture-backed food-biotech startup in Asia, the company is now on the verge to reinvent global beverage industry with a better & healthier juice that has less sugar & lower calories. By working with leading food & beverage manufacturers worldwide, JuiceInnov8 develops sugar reduction technology platform with natural & non-GM (non-genetically modified) microbes and proprietary sugar conversion process through biotechnology. The technology allows sugar & calories reduction in juice to near zero while preserving its original 100% juice content and key nutrients.
Proceed from this round will help JuiceInnov8 expand its core scientist & engineering team and help accelerate the development from pilot to commercial scale. The company is now working closely with leading brands & suppliers in the food & beverage supply chain in multiple regions around the globe.

JuiceInnov8, a Thai food-biotech startup has been selected into Food & Beverage Program#Batch 4 of Plug and Play, a global innovation platform and one of the world’s largest accelerator. Starting this August, a 3-month program will be held at Plug and Play HQ at the epicenter of Silicon Valley in Sunnyvale.
With over 40 companies in previous 3 cohorts, JuiceInnov8 is the first startup from Asia in Plug and Play Food & Beverage vertical and the first Thai startup in Plug and Play network.

JuiceInnov8 announced that its been selected into the inaugural cohort of startups for Terra, the Food + Ag Tech Accelerator. Founded by Rabobank and RocketSpace, Terra is a first of its kind accelerator program bringing together the industry’s most disruptive startups and progressive corporations to fuel cross-industry innovation and set a new standard for food and agriculture. The cohort - with global representation from across five countries (Canada, Spain, Thailand, UK, USA) and industry sectors - kicks off today on RocketSpace’s tech campus in San Francisco.
Unlike traditional accelerators, Terra’s unique consortium model brings together a diverse group of industry leaders - both big and small - to explore and experiment with potential partnerships through a dedicated product validation program. Rabobank and RocketSpace, along with Terra’s corporate collaborators - AgroFresh, Beta San Miguel, Givaudan, Griffith Foods, Grupo Azucarero Mexico/CULTIBA and OSI Group - selected JuiceInnov8 from a competitive applicant pool of hundreds of startups from around the world.
Among other benefits, JuiceInnov8 will gain brand exposure and be able to validate its product in collaboration with multiple industry corporations. This non-traditional accelerator model includes pilot testing and is structured to progress beyond a proof of concept to a commercially viable product.
Following the program’s kick off this week, JuiceInnov8 will begin an eight-week tailored curriculum led by industry experts, followed by an eight-week product validation period. During the program, JuiceInnov8 has the unique opportunity to work from RocketSpace’s tech campus in downtown San Francisco, among its curated community of tech startups which has included 18 “unicorns” valued at $1B or more.

Hosted by 1776, a Washington DC based startup incubator, 1776 Challenge Cup is an annual competition stage that runs in over 45 countries in 9 regions around the globe. Startups advance through three rounds: Local, Regional and Global Finals. All of the regional winners and a host of wild cards will be invited to participate in the Challenge Cup Global Finals next June in Washington, D.C.
JuiceInnov8 joined 1776 Challenge Cup Regional Round Tokyo in late Feb 2016 Thailand as a finalist.
